I’m Nic, an Education Studies: Multilingual Education & Spanish double-major at the University of Washington. I am from San Jose, California where I had the opportunity to experience an immersive dual language program in my education. With my experience in teaching and research efforts, I hope to tap into the Seattle community and make a difference for linguistically rich scholars. I devote my efforts into seeing all students flourish under a strong bilingual model the same way I did.

Co-Founder & Lead Researcher
Alejandro Salas
Email: salaal24@uw.edu Phone #: (509) 539-4361
I’m Alejandro, an Education Studies: Multilingual Education major at the University of Washington. My work focuses on educational equity and improving support for multilingual and immigrant students through advocacy and community engagement. As a former ELL student from rural Eastern Washington without access to robust language programs, I’m committed to expanding and strengthening these opportunities so future students can benefit in ways I could not.

Associate Researcher
Susana Mogil
Email: smogil@uw.edu Phone #: (843) 422-6179
My name is Susana, and I’m a second year Education Studies: Multilingual Education and Spanish double major at University of Washington. I’m from South Carolina, but I studied in the International Baccalaureate Spanish Immersion Program in elementary school and continued prioritizing bilingualism in English and Spanish all the way until now—all while speaking Spanish and English as my native languages at home. I’ve worked as a tutor and bilingual classroom support in several multilingual schools in Seattle Public Schools and back home. I want to use the knowledge I’ve gained from my connections and experiences to emphasize the value of dual language immersion programs for students of all age levels in our diverse learning communities.
