Noé Lima-Ponce -Researcher, Spanish Programs

Professional Portrait Photo.jpg

"I’m Noé, a first-year student at the University of Washington studying Education, Communities, & Organizations with a focus on multilingual education. As the child of immigrant parents from El Salvador and México, I did not fully learn English until later in elementary school, an experience that shaped my passion for multilingual education and equitable learning opportunities. I previously served as a Student Board Representative for Pasco School District, a district serving over 19,000 students and home to the largest dual-language program in Washington State. Through this role, I've advocated for student voice, equitable educational opportunities, and stronger support systems for diverse student communities. I've also interned in a 5th grade dual-language classroom, where I supported multilingual learners and helped create culturally responsive learning experiences for students. Beyond the classroom, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Washington Youth Alliance, where I engage in statewide legislative advocacy efforts centered on educational equity and multilingual education. I am also honored to have been selected as a Presidential Scholar by the University of Washington. Go Dawgs!"
