About Us
Bilingual Futures was started as a Research organization at the University of Washington with the primary purpose of exploring equitable and necessary changes to the current bilingual elementary model operated by Seattle Public Schools. We aim to help the district implement an immersive model with enhanced program design for maximized learning beyond just language acquisition, as we believe bilingual education offers a community that fosters cultural wealth and understanding. We currently operate as a recognized COE project under Dr. Manka Varghese's advisory, earning undergraduate research credits for our work. We actively work with program designers and Washington district leaders with a strong commitment to the Seattle community.
